To help readers better understand ERCOT, the OCSC has released Coming To Terms with ERCOT: A Glossary and Primer.

________________________________________________

ERCOT, also known as the Electric Reliability Council of Texas, is the non-profit corporation that oversees the state’s electric power grid.  However — as anyone who has ever followed the organization well knows — it’s also famous for the bewildering number of terms and acronyms used to describe its operations.  To help readers better understand ERCOT, the OCSC has released Coming To Terms with ERCOT: A Glossary and Primer.  This new 18-page document includes definitions of key ERCOT terms, plus information about the organization’s history, structure and board structure.

You can find the glossary in PDF form on the OCSC Report Page, or go to a direct link, here.

And for those who want to learn more about ERCOT, a perfect companion publication is The Story of ERCOT — also found on the OCSC Report Page. You can find a link to that report, here.
